i think yes scenarios like closed environment and long context are exactly when we should give a try to OPRAG. While I think this is something that we already do anyways but sometimes for the sake of accuracy we try techniques like reranking. I think that's when changing to this approach would be helpful. Ideally nothing new but an evidence based correct approach to rag I'd say :-
